Are you using biocidal actives for non-biocidal applications in the European Union?
As of June 1st, 2018, full REACH1 registration is required for chemicals supplied at volumes between 1 and 100 metric tons per year in the European Union. This includes the following:
Actives used for non-biocidal purposes, including for example in leather tanning or as chemical intermediates
Actives used as cosmetic preservatives regulated by the EU Cosmetics Regulation2 and REACH
Actives used to preserve plant protection products3
Co-formulants used in biocidal products
Be REACH compliant with products from Dow Microbial Control
REACH relevant substances made available in the European Union by Dow Microbial Control will be registered prior to the May 31st deadline. The following products will be compliant with REACH regulation (EC) N⁰1907/2006:

Dow will have registered CMIT/MIT as a cosmetic preservative under REACH.

As a reminder: Glutaraldehyde and Phenoxyethanol were registered in 2010 by Dow and continue to be compliant with REACH regulations beyond the approaching deadline.
Further, Dow Microbial Control is planning to achieve full REACH registration compliance of all co-formulants in its biocidal products manufactured or imported into the European Union.
