WEBINAR: Advanced silicone printing inks for better performance and textile regulatory compliance
With the continued global growth of the apparel market, the use of polyester, nylon and blends of these materials with elastane is also on the rise, especially in sportswear and loungewear. To support this higher demand for synthetic textiles, Dow is launching a patented silicone ink designed for an increased matte effect and improved hand feel.
On November 16, our silicone specialist Benoit Henault, TS&D senior scientist, and moderator Isabelle Riff, global segment leader-textiles shared Dow’s portfolio of silicone inks, including our latest innovation in printing inks for textiles.

Benoit Henault is a TS&D senior scientist with a current focus on aligning textile processing and finishing solutions with regulation and textile certifications. Amongst these, a particular focus is the development of silicone-based breakthrough Durable Water Repellent alternatives free of fluorocarbons. Benoit also oversees Dow’s work in upgrading its LSR product offerings, as well as business development for fashion coatings and technical textile coatings.

Benoit joined (legacy) Dow Corning in 1992 and joined the Dow team in 2017. Within that timeframe, he has held a range of positions aligned with the Home Care industry, including process chemist, product developer, project leader, product steward and Life Cycle Assessment studies specialist. In 2018, he joined the textile technical service team to redevelop Dow Silicones product offerings, innovation, and business.

Benoit holds an MSc degree in organic chemistry from Brussels University and an Engineering degree from Brussels Polytechnic School.
Isabelle Riff is a global marketing leader in leather and textiles, and a regional marketing manager for industrial coatings. After starting with Dow 25 years ago in a technical role, Isabelle has gained experience in various sales, business development and marketing management roles across Europe and Asia. Her technical, business and marketing experience spans several industries, including industrial, metal working and textile cleaning, oil & gas, water treatment, and various regulated market value chains for polyglycols and surfactants.

Isabelle holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Swiss Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland.
